A Comedy Variety TV Hybrid/ Lifestyle Show
Introduction
Starring S. Siobhan McCarthy as "Blyss", Canada's only kinky, relationship curious and sex obsessed clown, The Blyss Show is what happens when you mix Ali G, Dave Chappelle, Tracey Ullman and Tom Green with a bit of KINK and a lot of clown.
"Blyss is processing her own woes in a larger palette" Alan Hindle, The Globe and Mail
Blyss is a sexy, wisecracking, button-pushing joker who breaks down the fourth wall by constantly engaging the audience in dialogue about sexuality and relationships, politics, dis/ability and issues all over the moral map.
"One of Canada's most accomplished "cross-over" artists" (Canadian Theatre Review, 2005)
Blyss takes life to the extreme by constantly revealing her edge and inviting the audience into the realm and consciousness of a branded "love-starved clown".
She's looking for love in all the right and wrong places.
Background
Like well-known NYC-based performance artist Karen Finley, McCarthy utilizes her own life and experiences as direct material to cleverly confront her audiences. McCarthy is current in a respected tradition of North America's cutting edge performance artists.
The Blyss Show is based on the critically acclaimed, and successful stand-up comedy and touring shows of S. Siobhan McCarthy.
For the past two years McCarthy has toured Blyss across the country as the headliner at the Toronto Festival of Clowns, the DAF Festival in Calgary, Live Biennial Performance Art Festival in Vancouver, and highly successful, Vancouver International Burlesque Festival. She was the host of Vancouver's PRIDE, the Mascot of the Taboo Naughty but Nice Sex Show, and the Host of The PUSH Festival.
On myspace she has over seven hundred fans.
The Blyss Show
The Blyss Show is shot in a quirky, vibrant format utilizing a rich saturated colour palette, selectively using a fish eye lens to narrate Blyss' world.
Each episode has 4 Blyss Segments
• "The set up"- based on Blyss' stand up comedy. This takes place in Blyss' Play Palace - a short snappy segment less than three minutes -- stand up comedy setting up the theme of each episode.
• "The Scenes "- The format may be three five-minute bits or two eight- minute scenes. Here, Blyss's friends and cast members will be introduced to the viewer. These "real" and scripted portions will show Blyss out in the world interacting comedically with the unsuspecting folk. She strives to be loved by all and, in the process gets herself into highly comedic yet natural moments. Think Tom Green Show but, way hotter and more clownlike....tee hee.
• "Animated Blyss"- Peppered throughout the Show, there will be short animated sassy segments.
• "The Third Screen"- New Media is important to The Blyss Show. We intend on having a complete branded product utilizing synergistic marketing for every digital platform. Digital media doesn't scare Blyss!
Target Audience :- 18-40+ Urban Educated
Don't you want your own Blyss already?
There are many opportunities to market a full line of "Blyss products" online.

New Media Focus
The Blyss Show will utilize a comprehensive network of cross-platform applications to deliver the Blyss Show content to an audience much wider than that of the TV show alone. Content created for The Blyss Show is ideally suited for re-purposing, and will be broken down into smaller pieces (Blyss Bits, Blyss Bytes, and Blyss Bops) and delivered via the Internet, to cell phones and downloaded to PDAs and media players. Available worldwide, popularizing this additional content (through MySpace, YouTube, Tribe, FaceBook, etc.), and ancillary merchandising will create demand for the Blyss show into local markets. Internet users will also be able to contribute to the future development of TV episodes and Blyss on-line content pieces.
The Blyss Show is the world's first sexy clown-fronted variety sketch show. All content (created for each platform) will be used again on other platforms (Internet, to cell phones and downloaded to PDAs and media players).
